Über den Autor


William Doyle is Emeritus Professor of History and Senior Research Fellow at the University of Bristol. He has also taught or visited in universities and research centres in France and the USA. A Fellow of the British Academy, he is the author of fifteen books, mostly on the history of France between the mid-seventeenth and mid-nineteenth centuries. He has spent much of the last fifteen years thinking and teaching about Napoleon and his times.
