Martin Ebbertz:Martin Ebbertz (born 1962 in Aachen) is a German writer of children's books. He grew up in Pruem (Eifel), and studied Germanistik, Philosophy, and History in Freiburg, Munster and Frankfurt. He lived and worked as a freelance writer first in Frankfurt/Main, then five years in Thessaloniki, Greece. Since spring 2000 Martin Ebbertz has lived with his wife and two children in Boppard on the Rhine River. His first children's book Josef, der zu den Indianern will appeared in 1992. His best known book is Der kleine Herr Jaromir (2002), which was also translated into Dutch and Chinese.Martin Chalmers:Martin Chalmers, translator and writer, was born in 1948 and died in 2014. He grew up in Glasgow. After many years in Birmingham and London, 2007 he moved to Rixdorf in Berlin. Book translations include work by Herta Mueller, Erich Fried, Hubert Fichte, Thomas Bernhard and Alex­ander Kluge as well as The Diaries of Victor Klem­perer. Recently published are translations of Hans Magnus Enzensberger under the title Mr. Zed's Reflections and Peter Handke (Storm Still).Martin Chalmers, who has died of cancer aged 65, was a translator and champion of 20th-century and contemporary German-language writers. (The Guardian)Jens Rassmus:Jens Rassmus was born in 1967 and grew up in Kiel. He has been living in Hamburg since 1989. He studied Illustration at art school in Hamburg, and in 1994 studied at the Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art in Dundee, Scotland. He has been working as a freelance illustrator and author since 1996. He has worked for various publishers, mainly those with a focus on children's literature.
