The End of the Day

shortlisted for the Sunday Times/PFD Young Writer of the Year

Buch

Charlie meets everyone - but only once. You might meet him in a hospital, in a warzone, or at the scene of traffic accident. Then again, you might meet him at the North Pole - he gets everywhere, our Charlie. Would you shake him by the hand, take the gift he offers, or would you pay no attention to the words he says? Sometimes he is sent as a courtesy, sometimes as a warning. He never knows which. THE END OF THE DAY is the stunning new story from Richard and Judy Book Club author Claire North: the voice behind the word-of-mouth bestseller THE FIRST FIFTEEN LIVES OF HARRY AUGUST.

Über den Autor

Claire North is a pseudonym for Catherine Webb, a Carnegie Medal-nominated author whose debut novel was written when she was just fourteen years old. She has fast established herself as one of the most powerful and imaginative voices in modern fiction. Her first book published under the Claire North pen name was The First Fifteen Lives of Harry August, which became a word-of-mouth bestseller and won the John W. Campbell Memorial Award. Her follow-up, Touch, was described by the Independent as 'little short of a masterpiece'. Her next novel, The Sudden Appearance of Hope, won the 2017 World Fantasy Award for Best Novel, and The End of the Day was shortlisted for the 2017 Sunday Times/PFD Young Writer of the Year Award. Her 2018 novel 84K received a special citation at the Philip K. Dick Awards, and her latest novel, The Pursuit of William Abbey, has been shortlisted for a Locus award. Claire lives in London.
