The poets attempt to balance the struggle of life and find a spiritual solution to their paths in life through their poetic pieces. The thirst for equality from hidden visions of hate, drives the poets to question the Why of life. Yet, their faith remains strong in self, country, and God. Cleveland Omar Royal is a young poet, new to the publishing world. His assessment of his journey appears dark and challenging. Cleveland questions everything, while clinging to love and future hope. Silas has published Food for the Soul and Finding My Way in the past. Thoughts of a Generation touches the past, where Silas answers Frederick Douglass and James Baldwin's call. His journey is also peppered with darkness. Silas, however, believes in the positive light that leads him to conclude that his dark journey has strengthened his resolve to be as he was created. He calls to his young brothers to stand and not faint. Silas speaks of love and the importance of faith. The poets speak a plain truth, yet inspire the soul to fight and continue in hope, love, and God.
