Mary Schaeffer Conroy is Emeritus Professor of Russian and European History at the University of Colorado Denver. She has authored biographies of P. A. Stolypin and cosmetics baron E. Virgil Neal, three books on pharmacy and the pharmaceutical industry in Imperial Russia and the USSR, and edited two works on civil society in late Imperial Russia.
