Über den Autor

To research and photograph this book, Sy Montgomery and Keith Ellenbogen swam in murky waters among piranhas, stingrays, and pink dolphins—and sometimes with other creatures who they could feel but not see! Keith, a Senior Fellow with the International League of Conservation Photographers and a professor at the Fashion Institute of Technology, specializes in underwater photography. Sy, a National Book Award finalist and Sibert Medal winner, has made five other trips to the Amazon besides this one. The duo has collaborated on two other books in the Scientists in the Field series so far, on octopuses and sharks. All of the events in this book really happened as described, and the photos of the animals (except those pictured at New England Aquarium) were all taken in the wild. None of the photos were manipulated or changed in any way. To learn more, please visit symontgomery.com and bluereef.com.
